リンダ・エヴァンジェリスタ（Linda Evangelista, 1965年5月10日～）

リンダ・エヴァンジェリスタは、80年代終わりから90年代まで「トップ中のトップモデル」といわれた伝説的なモデルです。

シャネルの広告には、90年代にアパレルラインでクリスティ・ターリントンと共に、2012年にはアイウェアのキャンペーンに登場しました。

洋服を誰よりも理解し、フォトグラファーの要望を完璧に体現する彼女は、もうすぐ50歳になるという現在でもモデル産業の第一線で活躍しています。

彼女はイタリア系カナダ人で、労働者階級の家で生まれ育ちました。

13歳の頃から既にトップモデルになることを夢見ていました。

しかし、なかなかブレイクせずにカタログモデルなどを中心に活動していましたが、髪をショートにしたことがきっかけでブレイクします。

その後、元の黒髪からプラチナブロンドやレッドに次々と髪色を変えていき、いつしか「カメレオン」の異名を持つようになりました。

クリスティ・ターリントンとナオミ・キャンベルと3人で「トリニティ」と呼ばれ、90年代はじめのファッション産業は彼女たちが牛耳っていたといわれています。

リンダのように変幻自在に自分のイメージを操り、どのデザイナーにも「ミューズ」といわれるようになったモデルはいないと思います。

勿論、カール・ラガーフェルドからの信頼も絶大で、シャネルとの専属契約を結んでいないものの、カールは彼女を頻繁に広告に起用しています。
